Ontario’s travelling Easter Egg Farmer
In parts of Ontario this year, Easter was marked not by the Easter bunny – but instead with an appearance by the Easter Egg Farmer.
Bruce Weber, an egg farmer from the Elmira ON area, took to the road this month to promote eggs and egg farming just in time for the egg-focused Easter holiday.
With the help of an education trailer, Bruce visited schools across the province to talk to kids about eggs – from the farm right to the table.
He was a hit with students and media alike, logging about a dozen print, radio and television interviews during his days on the road, and also tracked his activities on Twitter (@EasterEggFarmer).
What a great example of taking the farm to the public and engaging them in the discussions around where our food comes from. Kudos to Egg Farmers of Ontario for this initiative!
