Fabulous farming fotos
For anyone writing or blogging about farming, here’s a great resource for you.
One of my biggest struggles is always trying to find current, accurate and available photos to go along with articles or blog posts.
The Ontario agriculture photo library has a wide array of available photos depicting many of the different aspects of farming in our province.
Accessible at farmphotos.ca, the library has been around for several years – but what’s exciting is that they’ve just uploaded a whole series of new images.
In addition to new shots of pigs, cattle, poultry, sheep and goats, they’ve also expanded to include pictures of fruits, vegetables, corn, wheat, soybeans and other crops.
There are also sections specific to animal health, food safety, transportation and environment, as well as one of my favourites – photos of real farmers, raising livestock and growing crops.
The library is a project of Farm & Food Care.

Hi Dave – thanks for commenting. I agree, the more people that use the images, the better! I will pass your thoughts along to OFAC/AGCare as they’re the ones running the library. Cheers,
Lilian

I think the media conditions are a little too restrictive. There was government grant money in the project, so you’d think it would be easier to access, more “public” as it were. It’s important to get these images into more stories and features. If we want mainstream media to do more farm stories, let’s make it easier for them.
